A short and primarily pointless post

Good to see you back in action.

I’m afraid I’m a real Luddite when it comes to new technology – having no interest in it beyond its surface flashiness – so I’m afraid that sort of article is of no interest to me personally.

For your D&D Next Now – why not simply D&D Now?

Always enjoy your renders and your insights into RPGs :-)

Thanks for your feedback as ever, Tim. Much appreciated!

I’m thinking about doing one tech post per week, mainly to get my thoughts about tech-related stuff out of my system without having the burden of creating/maintaining another blog. Would that be off-putting to you, or an acceptable speed bump in the blog?

D&D Now may well end up being the final title for my D&D Modern hack. It’s still very much a work in progress :)

      Thanks again!

I can totally understand the need to get “stuff out your system” (I’ve had a few posts like that of late) and I see that as par for the course with blogging.

I’ll be honest and say I probably won’t read a tech post, but then again knowing your tastes – and where we overlap – there’s more chance I’ll read a tech post on your blog than pretty much anywhere else ;)

It certainly wouldn’t be off-putting as the majority of your posts would still be game-orientated.

  2. I’ve been looking at 13th Age and contemplating all the ways to make it into a Superhero game… so you’re probably not alone.

  3. Glad you’re back at it! I’m pretty much here for the RPGs and the renders, so the tech section wouldn’t appeal to me. On the other hand, I’ll love the blog either way.

  4. Always happy to see a blog start back up. I wouldn’t mind a Tech article once in a while (it’ll keep me abreast of gadgets I can use for the table).

Still, me being mostly an OSR grog (Basic and 2E bring my poison of choice), I’ll probably ignore the WHFRP and D&D Next stuff in favor of Old School Goodness.

All in all, keep up the good work.

Tech and RPGs make a great combination! I have a similar occasional column on my blog (http://tolrendor-world.net/category/columns/rpg-tech-talk/). Would love to share ideas!

  6. Having the odd tech post would be no problem for me. Yeah, I come for the RPG posts, but your writing tends to be a worthwhile read even on tedious subjects. :-) Hmmm, WHFRP, which edition? I’m going back to 2ed using the 1ed setting for an up-coming campaign. Nothing like a tongue-in-cheek grim and perilous fantasy setting to keep things amusing on the gaming front.
