Here’s a quick preview of a character I’m stating up for DC Universe/Mutants & Masterminds 3e. Expect full Character du Jour treatment Real Soon ™. Meet Nowhere Man. And no, here’s not related to this guy at all. Just a guess, but I think you might like him. I do. Rendered in DAZ Studio, no

Sometimes we GMs want our players to suffer. We want their characters to feel the after effects and pain of battle, and seeing them mark off their Healing Surges just doesn’t cut it. This is especially true when the adventure is set in a mega-dungeon or the Underdark where Our Heroes can’t just head back

D&D has, in its time, visited many places and had many settings. We’ve had D&D in space (Spelljammer), set in desert lands (twice – Dark Sun and Al-Qadim), the Far East (Oriental Adventures) and on the plains of the horse clans (The Horde – remember that?). We’ve had D&D in Wonderland, in a city lodged

A week of rendering spaceships, clowns, bikinis, fairies and elves is not a bad week at all, I reckon. What do you think? I’m done. Hope you’re having a great weekend, all! 1 person likes this post. Unlike Tweet

One of the biggest innovations (or perhaps that should be re-innovations, as some of these elements were also present in previous editions) in Fourth Edition D&D has been the broadening of character generation. Your character is no longer a simple Race/Class combo (though he can be just that, if you want him to be) but

Here’s a quick question to throw into the shallow duckpond that is the internet: what Race/Class combos would best represent the A-Team, were they transplanted into the realms of Dungeons & Dragons? To my mind, this dysfunctional band of merry pyromaniacs (who always seem to get the job done) are the archetypal adventuring party. They

Love it! What a great use for Gallus gallus 513! (other than for feast-sized chicken breasts).
Here’a a niggling fact. Add the “mount” keyword to the creature (at least I think you can do that in Adventure Tools).

What? They didn’t tame ostriches? They had to breed giant chickens? Do they breathe fire?

@Jay Thanks!
@deadorcs Good catch :D Corrected, with “mount” keyword added. Thanks for that.
@Elton Giant chickens make much more sense to tiny goblin brains. Besides, everyone knows that ostriches are riden by orcs. And no, chickens don’t breath fire. Unless they’re dragon/chicken hybrids, of course.

“How do you get out of this chicken outfit anyway,” asked Snorter the Goblin. “I don’t want to be part of the pecking order.”

Awesome idea. Back in my WarhammerFB 2e days, I mounted goblins on axebeak equivalents (no army lists but the bestiary did have cassowaries among the possible mounts)
Now I have to check the toys aisle for chickens…

A party pecked to death by chicken? You are being far too cruel. :)

No fire breathing chickens? Oh well, it’s back to the drawing board.

no battle cat armor for those delicious mounts?

Mentioning the vicious Chicken of Bristol is going to date me horribly isn’t it? Oh dear. :)
And giving them Frenzied Trample is inspired.

I played in an Earthdawn campaign once where my character was convinced one of the creatures we were tracking was a giant fire-breathing chicken, based entirely on something that my GM misspoke. It turned out to be a half-man, half-snake Horror that murdered several members of our party :(
Giant chickens are the Tuna-of-the-Land. B’GOCK!
