When Great Dada created the first human, the other Animal Gods laughed. What was this creature that was weaker than a gorilla, slower than a cheetah, less patient than a snake and less cunning that a fox? Yet as the humans grew and spread, their laughter turned to jealously, and each Animal God decided to create a human of their own.
With each generation, a human child is born to each animal race, inheriting the traits of it’s parents but given human form. The child is nurtured to become a blessed protector of the race and Avatar of the Animal God. Sher kaa bachcha is one such avatar, representative of the Tiger God. Born to a family of Bengal Tigers he travels the wild places of the world with his sister Benga protecting the dwindling numbers of his kind against the encroach of man.
“Sher kaa bachcha” means “son of a tiger” in Hindi.
Dirty little secret: Legends have spread about an Upright Tiger, and more than one hunter has sworn to claim his head as a trophy.
