Comicbook maker Photoshop Action

I liked the comicbook effect so much, I’ve turned it into a Photoshop Action. Just download it here and drop it into your \Presets\Photoshop Actions folder in your Photoshop directory. Start Photoshop and load Greywulf.atn from the Actions pallette – Comicbookify is right there. Load an image and hit Play.

Here’s a few more samples.

It works with real photos too! Give it a try, and post your results in the comments.

I was doing a google search on Daz Studio and found your blog. So far I have read to here and I want to thank you for the time you have taken for people like myself that are new to 3d. That comicbookify is pretty cool looking stuff :)

This action hasn’t worked for me – all I get are b&w streaks as-is.

    Any Ideas?

@Mike which version of Photoshop are you using? I wrote this for CS3 and it might not work in CS4.

You should get the same effect by following this walkthrough – the action just automates it.

It might just be that the top layer isn’t changing blending mode to Overlay, perhaps.

    Hope that helps!

I’m using CS2 – that might be an issue.
I’ll check out the tutorial – thanks for the quick response!
