This looks awesome! When this comes out, I definitely plan to get my hands on a copy. I mean, I still plan to use the 4e books I spent all that money on, but if my group decides they like this more, then that's probably the way I'll go. Otherwise, it'll look great on my shelf ;)

Keep up the great posts. I love reading your blog.

I'd love to know how to play 4e convincingly without miniatures. Our experience is that there's just too much emphasis on minis play to be able to eliminate it. All that pushing, pulling, marking and the like; much moreso than 3e, 4th Edition needs (nay, demands!) miniatures to play.

Convince me otherwise! Please :D

I've already pre-ordered my copy. I think this may become the default setting for my group as they are D&D lovers. This will work out great for me because I like the M&M a lot. But the group doesn't like supers very much.

BTW I rarely use minis with D&D and when I do it is not in the way WotC wants me to. They usually sit in the middle of the table as a reference point during combat and that's it. No maps most of the time and minis only on occassion, yet we still play 3e and 4e with no problems.

Agreed...4e definitely does not require miniatures...the idea that is does is just a Suggestion by the Seaside Sorcerers to get you to buy their tiny plastic people...

Also, agreed...M&M is definitely going to be getting some love whenever I get back to my home game...

But back to the topic: Cool, I think I have to get that book. That's exactly what the doctor ordered... ;)
Perhaps I will not use Savage Worlds for my "World of Asecia" campaign after all. M&M FTW!!!

Hmm, I don't understand why everyone thinks that D&D 4th Edition has to be played with miniatures. We have played D&D 3.5 and D&D 4.0 without every using miniatures. Heck, most of the time we don't even draw a combat map on scratch paper. D&D 4th Edition combat works perfectly with just the DM and players describing their actions. No need for miniatures...

I'm sitting on a Dragon article plan to allow D&D 4e without miniatures. It's suprisingly easy to do and requires a few tweaks of the Powers that cause Push/slide/pull mechanics.

Would you be interested in this?
