Character du Jour: Rylla Leafshadow
Nestled high above the campsite, Rylla Leafshadow gazed down on her companions. “Such strange creatures,” she mused, running a slender finger across her grimy chin. “always looking down at the ground like cattle chewing the grass.”
She shifted position in the tree, and as she did so spotted the furtive brown movements drawing close. Silently, she notched her bow. Ignorant cattle or not, she had grown fond of these humans, and would not let them become goblin fodder on her watch.
Rylla is an Eldarin Treedancer, a Ranger who prefers to move among the branches rather than walk the ground. With the advantage of both height and cover, it’s not hard to see why. An Eldarin’s Fey Step ability is well suited to movement from bough to bough, and with her high Acrobatics skill she’s unlikely to lose her footing. Outside the forest realms, Rylla will always be on the search for high ground and try to reach a safe position before bringing her Longbow to bear.
Dirty Little Secret: Rylla is a Dirt Elf. Back in the Feywild her status is the lowest of the low among the Eldarin – hence her reason for choosing to remain in the World. That also explains her tendency to put down the non-elven races too; everyone needs someone to look down on. Other Eldarin will recognise her for what she is, and doubtless treat her accordingly.
