Comments on FaceToFacebook: Ever since I created my first profiles via FOAF, on MySpace and on Xing I wondered what this was all supposed to do for me. The only benefit I've . . .

Well, Facebook is not all about red roses and less of what MySpace have a rumor to be, but it’s more fun because of the applications you can add to your page :)

However, the main population at Facebook are still barely 20 years old…and if that’s grown up…well, you need to meet my son who’s almost 5 years older than that and see how “old” it really is…hehe

From what I’ve seen so far it works a lot smoother than MySpace ever done. But…then you cannot make your own theme for your page, and that is what makes a huge difference.
I miss that bit since that was the only fun thing about MySpace. A darn challenge to make the theme work, look good and load fast :p

As a community I never used MySpace so I can’t really compare the two that way.
But, what makes a community is the people who are using it, not the site itself ;)

Ever since I created my first profiles via FOAF, on MySpace and on Xing I wondered what this was all supposed to do for me. The only benefit I’ve noticed from Xing is that lots of coworkers and clients are on Xing, so should I ever loose my job, I’d have a big list of contacts that I could look into.

Other than that… My social network is created via the feeds of personal blogs I’m subscribed to.
