This is one of the many doors set into the wall around where we live. At different points in time this place has been the kennels and garden for the local Hall, a market garden and a country club. Now, we just call it home.
Some of the doorways have been blocked up as needs changed. Routes to fields that no longer belong to the place, pathways for no-longer used horse and hounds, that kind of thing. A walk around the garden is a journey through over 300 years of history, literally.
I really ought to get out and take a photo of all the doorways.
