Hope all is well now. I know the feeling of being alive due to technological progress: Claudia had Leukemia as a kid. Gives you an entirely different perspective on drugs, pharmaceutical research, etc.

All true. I’ve been thankful for the miracle of medicine ever since I had Salmonella as a child. Ten years earlier I’ve had died, as would my mother, sister and her baby – now an energetic 18 year old.
The people who criticise the health service seem to forget that they work miracles, every single day. Christa is now minus a gall bladder. The operation went well, though she’s still in quite a lot of pain. She is expected to make a full recovery, which is good
