That Football Thing

Not the game that’s saturating the TV schedules right now where overpriced queens prance about while we’re all sucked into the vacuum of tacky commercialism (not that I hate the World Cup or anything).

I’m talking about a football tournament for children. That’s where I’ve been today with my sons. The eldest was competing in the under-7s category, and despite losing they had a great time.

No red cards, no fouls, no spitting, no kicking while the ref’s not looking and hoping for that all-important free kick (because we can’t score otherwise for toffee!)

Which just goes to show that football can be fun, innocent and show great sportsmanship.
