Cruise the hot tech stories right now, and you’ll see there is a lot of convergence going on.

Flickr meets del.icio.us meets rss meets blogging meets wiki meets moblogging meets….

This can only mean one thing. Soon we’re going to be able to share the pictures on our phones remotely.

Woohoo!

No, that doesn’t sound quite right….

It means that we will be able to receive and publish content – text and images first, but video, vblogs and God knows what else soon after – anywhere and anyhow we want. Websites will be optional eye candy and feeds (for those who want and know how to use them) will become the de facto standard for browsing.

That is, until MicroSoft get their way and redefine RSS in their own image, as is their wont, complete with advertising, monitoring of usage and the evil hellspawn that is DRM.

THIS MUST BE STOPPED!

MicroSoft cannot and will not own rss in the way they have taken over and proprietriezed (is that a word?) so many other things.

Let the internet evolve. But don’t let anyone own it.
